OMG. D I O R

Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring 2009

Bruna Tenorio awes in one of my favorite looks...

Style.com's Sarah Mower said that John Galliano's (in all his awesome-ness) inspiration for the show was "Flemish painters and Monsieur Dior." About the show, considering this current recession, he says "There's a credit crunch, not a creative crunch. Of course, everyone is being more careful with their discretionary purchases. I am. But it's our job to make people dream, and to provide the value in quality, cut, and imagination."

And boy did he make me dream. Each detail of each garment was perfectly carried-out, and added to the Dutch Golden-Age Fantasy that was created in my mind as soon as the first girl walked out.

The shoes, OMG the shoes...

The hair and makeup

The accents on each look...

I would love to have been there, experiencing all the beautifully-structured pieces firsthand.

Do we need any more proof that Monsieur Galliano is some type of magical genius? I don't think so, he outdoes himself every season. Incredible.

I love the detailing on each piece. You can see similar accents in this year's pre-fall collection. The exaggerated proportions are awesome too. It's all so couture and yet so wearable. Or at least I would rock it.
