New York Fashion Week Starts Tomorrow!

AWO9 kicks off in New York tomorrow and I'm extremely excited! Even though I'm not going, I like to read about it on style.com, New York magazine's fashion section and on live-blogs. I'm extremely anxious to see new trends for fall.
Sadly, this is the last NYFW at Bryant Park, since next season it moves to the Lincoln Center. On top of that, many designers are moving their shows to their showrooms and just changing to presentations period.
But anyway,
According to COACD, this is the schedule

So many good shows going on at the same time! How do editors pick and decide which to attend which to not?
All I know, is I hope soon I can attend. Think of how awesome it'd be to have backstage photos

And to go to all the cool parties, meet the best editors (imagine just "bumping" into Meredith Melling Burke or Anna Wintour)

Or maybe even finding yourself sharing a cab with a model late for a show
(imagine Chanel Iman or Coco Rocha asking you to split a cab?!)
Yeah, I know..my imagination is wild, lol

How cool would it be to write a behind-the-scenes article, or report live from the fashion capitals?

I'm anticipating Jason Wu (you know because of Michelle O., speaking of which, check her out here on VOGUE)
Marc Jacobs (of course), Zac Posen (love), Betsey Johnson...

But nonetheless, I'm very excited for the shows! You?

Look of The Day: A Little Blair Waldorf Goes A Long Way

As seen here on Lookbook

I can't think of what I don't like about this outfit, I saw it on a post on Lookbook a while ago and I haven't been able to get over it!
The Marc Jacobs shoes are lovely, the over-the-knee stockings are wonderful, the coat and the gloves are just wonderful and the bow on the headband? Adorable. Love it!

(Edit: this isn't me I just love the look)

: ) I Did This For Class : What (or Who) Will Michelle Obama Wear?

Photobucket
(Christian Lacroix...That coat is gorgeous)

As America prepares to inaugurate a new president that stands for change later this month, international fashion designers ranging from Marc Jacobs to Christian Lacroix prepare sketches of what they hope his fashion-conscious wife will wear to the inauguration. WWD, Women’s Wear Daily which is fashion’s biggest newspaper, reports that they contacted various big names like Diane Von Furstenberg about this subject who readily sent back illustrations of their ideas. Not only did they sketch looks for her, but for her daughters Malia and Sasha.

They can be found here

Fashion designers were excited about this election because the last chic First Lady was Jacqueline Kennedy in 1969. Almost 40 years later, fashion-philes were overjoyed to see couture return to the campaign through Michelle Obama.

Considering that the First Lady-Elect usually opted for lesser-known and cheaper brands like J. Crew and young designers like Thakoon during her husband’s race; the question really is “who will she wear” on his most important night? She saved her biggest name, Narciso Rodriguez, for election night and with legendary designers like Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel ready to make a dress for her, will she go for a grand label to fit her new, grand position or go for a younger, newer brand like Zac Posen to celebrate her new position?

Fashion Month!

It's September and this is one of my fave months not only because my mom and brother's birthday are in this month, but because: it's Spring Fashion Month aka September. Right now it's Fashion week in Milan, and since I'm not quite out there on the catwalks yet, i use the net as my source. New York Magazine's fashion section always gives great coverage along with style.com and the others.
Anyway! My faves are below

Zac Posen= Pure Genius, I can see why Diddy is his backer. The collection offers lots of diversity (ruffles to sequins to animal prints), all while showing the creative cohesiveness that we've come to expect from the Central Saint Martins (John Galliano and other greats, alumni)Parson's (Marc Jacobs, alumni) student.

My particular favorites are the dresses worn by Anna Gushina at 00:48,Jourdan Dunn whose at 00:32, Lakshmi Menon at 00:57, and Han Jin at 1:06 and Jessica Stam at 00:53(I love Stammy!),the face of the video. And even though I'm not crazy aabout the dress she wore, i have to note that Coco Rocha was (is and always will be) awesome.
Zac Posen is definitely on my list of dream designers.
